What is Fotona4D?

4D laser facelifting with Fotona SP Dynamis laser is a non-invasive, non-ablative method of restoring a more youthful appearance in the face and neck. Fotona4D laser treatments are unlike any other laser treatments that are available on the market today. Dynamis, the latest in laser technology, gently resurfaces, rejuvenates, and restores youthfulness to the skin of the face and neck. 

Fotona4D is a four-dimensional treatment that lifts the face, reducing wrinkles and tightening the skin. 4D laser treatment moves in 4 stages. The first is a laser treatment that helps tighten and plump up the overall face, targeting volume in the skin. The next step is a fractional laser treatment to target skin imperfections that can age the skin. This stage is called FRAC3 and helps reduce and remove dark spots, age spots, and red spots along with vascular imperfections. The third stage of the Fotona4D Laser treatment is use of the Piano Mode. This stage specifically targets skin laxity to firm and tighten the face overall. The final stage is a polishing peel to remove dead skin cells and restore a bright and youthful complexion to the face.

 

What are the 4 steps of Fotona4D facelift treatments?

SMOOTHLIFTIN

The first step of the treatment involves a pain-free laser rejuvenation treatment that is delivered intraorally to rejuvenate the delicate tissues inside the mouth. The tightening of the oral cavity results in tighter skin on the exterior around the nasolabial folds, chin, and mouth. SmoothLiftin is an ideal treatment for people who want to achieve immediate results that continue to improve over the course of several months.

FRAC3

The second step involves using the FRAC3 fractionated laser mode, which targets the superficial and deeper layers of the skin to target imperfections in the skin. FRAC3 is effective in treating irregularities in the superficial layers of the skin such as sun spots and lesions. It also improves skin texture. In addition, FRAC3 tightens the skin and induces thermal heat to stimulate neocollagenesis.

PIANO 

The third step entails the use of the ND:YAG fractionated laser to heat the deep layers of the dermis, initiating the process of strengthening the skin structures. PIANO mode homogeneously stimulates collagen to gently tighten and remodel the skin from the inside out.

SupErficial

The final step is the resurfacing laser peel, which can immediately brighten and tone the skin. SupErficial treatments safely resurface the skin by reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and pore size. This leaves the overall skin tone and texture enhanced. This treatment requires no downtime. However, this step of the treatment can be intensified for a full laser peel with minimal downtime. Most patients see noticeable improvements even after just one treatment. 

 
 
 
 

How many treatments are required?

This non-invasive, minimal to no-downtime treatment is perfect for busy patients who don’t have time for bruising or swelling. Many see instant improvement from the initial collagen contraction, with the best results visible 3-4 months later. We recommend a course of 3-4 treatments, 1 every 4 weeks. We are stimulating your natural collagen production, so maintenance from time to time is highly encouraged for longer lasting results.

What can I expect during and after my Fotona4D facelift?

There is little to no discomfort experienced by patients during the treatment.  The final step ‘SupErficial’ can feel quite warm and/or prickly but this can easily be overcome by using a cool compressor to blow cold air over the area. Post treatment patients may feel warm for the first 24 hours and experience some redness (like a mild sunburn). 

The treated area will feel tight and some flaking may be experienced for up to 1 week dependent upon the level of peel performed. We recommend avoiding heat exposure during this time and to maintain sun protection.
